Prosecutors held an powerful influence over cases but have not much accountability about their decisions. As nearly 95 percent of the cases that prosecutors decide to prosecute end up with the defendant pleading guilty without going to trial, prosecutors can easily misuse their power by withholding important evidences which might led to wrongful convictions.
